Save the Date: General Anthony C. Zinni (Ret.), ’65 BS, MS, MBA, U.S. Marine Corps, Visits Villanova

General Zinni is a retired four-star Marine Corps general and former Commander in Chief of U.S. Central Command. His distinguished military career has taken him to more than 70 countries with numerous command assignments. General Zinni joined the Marine Corps' Platoon Leader Class program in 1961 and was commissioned an infantry second lieutenant in 1965 upon graduation from Villanova University. General Zinni has coordinated emergency security and disaster relief operations and other humanitarian aid around the globe in such places as the Philippines, Turkey, Iraq, and Somalia. Since his retirement in 2000, General Zinni has continued to serve his country in a variety of diplomatic positions including special envoy to the Middle East.
